Three of our grandchildren stayed with us after our big family reunion Memorial Day weekend. Hailey brought fabric to make her first quilt, and her mom's sewing machine. The first two days she spent designing the quilt, cutting out all the strips using a rotary blade, and then started sewing the strips together. She had practiced sewing straight before she started and did very well. Here are her first strips. She ended up finishing it at home, and made a coverlet for both bunk beds. Two of the pictures below show the quilting patterns Jeri Montella used when she quilted them.
Here are the finished quilts. Pretty good work, Hailey! So glad you finished.
Brendan learned how to press seams and sew a pretty straight seam.
Laurie and Brendan learned how to make designer pillow cases. They made two for themselves, and then several sets for Primary Children's Hospital. Here are some of their finished products.
